If you’ve just bought an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus and wondering how to take a screenshot then it is very simple.

Follow these simple instructions to take a screenshot:

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake or Power button. The Sleep/Wake button has moved from the top right of the device in case of the previous generation to the right-hand edge.

  • Now without releasing the Sleep/Wake button, press the Home button.

Note, you can also do it the other way around, but if you’re trying to take a screenshot of the Lock screen then Touch ID could kick in and prevent you from taking the screenshot of the Lock screen, or you could end up invoking Siri. You can also do it by pressing the buttons simultaneously but I’ve found it to be more error prone, especially on the iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6.

If you get it right, the screen will flash and it will make the camera shutter sound that the Camera app makes when you take a photo.

Take screenshot with one-hand with Assistive Touch

If you’ve enabled the Assistive Touch Accessibility feature, then you will be able to take a screenshot with one-hand by following these instructions:

  • Tap on the floating menu button on the screen.
  • Tap on Device
  • Tap on More
  • Tap on Screenshot.

That’s it, the screen will flash and it will make the camera shutter sound that the Camera app makes when you take a photo.

The screenshots are saved in the Camera roll in the Photos app. Launch the Photos app to access them.

Try it out, and let me know how it goes.
