If you don’t like iOS’ default behavior of using a contact’s initials as its default avatar, and want to add profile photos for contacts from social networks, here’s an easy way to do it.
Contact Pics+ is an app that scans your contact list, and lets you add profile pictures from Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, Facebook, Gravatar, gMail and Google Image Search.
Here’s how you do it:
- Download and install Contact Pics+. The app costs $1.99, and can be purchased from this App Store link.
- Grant Contact Pics+ permission to access your Contacts.
- You’ll be asked to add sources like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter etc. To add each source, you’ll have to sign into your account.
- Once you add sources, head back to the contacts list, and tap on any contact without a picture.
- Swipe horizontally to switch between sources, and select the image you like.
While Facebook and Twitter contact Sync feature in iOS automatically adds contact photos, if you want more control over your contact photos, this app is a great way to achieve that.
