With as much as you use your iPhone or iPad, they are going to get dirty. And, if either device comes in contact with things that can stain like dyes, oils, or foods, then cleaning it is a must. Here are the steps to follow to clean your iPhone, iPad, and Apple Brand device cases.
Clean Your iPhone and iPad
Step 1: Turn off your device and remove any attached cables.
Step 2: Use a clean, soft, lint-free, non-abrasive cloth to wipe down your device. A lens cloth is ideal for this and you can use it on both the screen and Home button.
Step 3: For the iPhone 5c, clean the dirt around the SIM tray opening by using a very small amount of rubbing alcohol on the lint-free cloth. Be sure to avoid getting the alcohol or other moisture into the opening.
Do not use cleaning products, compressed air, or any abrasive product that may scratch your device.
Do not let moisture find its way into any of the device openings.
Clean Your Apple Brand Cases
Remember to remove your device from the case before cleaning.
Silicone Cases
Slightly dampen a clean, lint-free cloth and wipe down your silicone case.
Leather Cases
Use a clean, soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with warm water and a mild hand soap. Wipe all sides of the case. You can use a leather cleaner or conditioner, but keep in mind that it can affect the color of the leather.
Smart Battery Case – iPhone
Use a clean, lint-free, slightly dampened cloth to wipe down the outside of the iPhone Smart Battery Case. To clean the internal Lightning connector, use a clean, soft, lint-free, dry cloth.
Polyurethane Smart Cases and Smart Covers – iPad
Use a clean, lint-free slightly dampened cloth to wipe down the case or cover.
Do not use household cleaners, aerosol sprays, or any product containing hydrogen peroxide on your cases.
If you use your devices daily, then don’t wait until they get dirty to clean them. It only takes minutes to keep your devices and their protective cases looking shiny and new. And, don’t forget to clean your Apple Watch regularly too!
