Some of the widgets on the Apple Watch look pretty nice. So of course, someone has already made them for the iPhone. Let’s take a look at how to set up these widgets and get them working for you.

These widgets are free, but the tool that it uses to apply the widgets (LockHTML 4) is not. It costs $1.00. You can avoid paying that with a little extra leg work and I’ll show you how to do that below.

  • First, you’ll need to add a repo: http://sniperger.github.io/cydia
  • Now, install:
    • Apple Watch “Chronograph”
    • Apple Watch “Simple”
    • Apple Watch Weather for LockHTML

If you have LockHTML 4 installed, then you’re good to go and you can just apply it through your LockHTML settings. But, if you want to use the free alternative, this is how you’ll do it.

  • After installing the widgets, download and install GroovyLock
  • Open iFile and navigate to /var/mobile/Library/LockHTML and copy those files to /var/mobile/Library/GroovyLock
  • You’re done!

Now those widgets will be available within the GroovyLock settings and you can apply them from there. But, now that we have the process out of the way, let’s take a look at what the widgets actually look like:

In order to get the right weather on the weather widget you’ll need to edit the weather.js file in iFile. To do this:

If using LockHTML

  • Navigate to /var/mobile/Library/LockHTML/WATCH – Weather.theme/weather.js and tap on “Text Viewer”

If using GroovyLock

  • Navigate to /var/mobile/Library/LockHTML/WATCH – Weather.theme/weather.js and tap on “Text Viewer”

Then you’ll want to edit lines 2, 3, and 4 as needed. So to change your location, just go to http://woeid.rosselliot.co.nz/lookup/ to lookup your WOEID. Then you’ll want to input that into line 2 of the weather.js file. You can change “imperial” to “metric” as well, and change your time zone on line 4. You’ll need to respring your device in order for these changes to take effect.

Please note that these are not the actual Apple Watch faces. The developer has created replicas of the Watch faces.
