iMessage bubble effects in iOS 10 are taking over our chats. Slamming some text on the screen never gets old. Neither does sending not even remotely secret text in “invisible ink” mode. But what if you missed what effect a message was sent it? Before today, that effect was just lost. Now, there’s a way to replay it.

Are You Running iOS 10.1?
This feature was added in iOS 10.1. So to be able to use it, you need to make sure you’re running iOS 10.1.
Go to “Settings” -> “General” -> “Software Update”.
If you’re already running iOS 10.1, it will say so there. Or else you’ll need to upgrade.
Just Hit Replay
Once that’s done, go back to the Messages app, open the conversation in the question and now under the latest message you’ll see the blue text “Replay”.
Just tap on it and the bubble effect will play again.
And you can do this for any message. Each message sent with any effect will have the “Replay” tag.
The Effect of Replaying Effects
Effects are fun. But I’ve discovered and replaying effects, when the keyboard is out of the way has its own charm. The slam effect especially looks even more epic (if that was possible).
