HQ Trivia is a live trivia app on iPhone where you can earn real money. All you have to do is answer some trivia questions. If you’ve always thought of yourself as a trivia king or queen but never got enough courage to go to a trivia show, this is your chance to make it big. The app sometimes pays out tens of thousands of dollars each night (split between all winners).
In HQ Trivia, you’re competing with players all across the globe. There are two rounds every weekday – 3 PM EST and 9 PM EST (and 9 PM EST on weekends). The app will tell you the next round in your local time and you’ll get your money using PayPal. From the outside, it might seem like winning a game is easy. The first couple of questions usually are. But after eight or ninth question, things start to get really tough. And because you only have 10 seconds to answer, googling is of no help. How then can you win money in the game? 1. Earn Extra Lives by Referring Friends
Like any other game, HQ Trivia has a system where you can continue playing even after you’ve got a question wrong. You can get a “life”. Right now, the only way to get a life in HQ Trivia is by inviting a friend. Once they play a game, you’ll get a new life that will automatically be used next time you die. There’s no way to pay for a life as of now (but I’m sure that option will come soon enough).

The best chance you have of winning big is by making sure you have a life or two to spare every night. So invite as many friends as possible. If your friends are already playing the game, ask them to enter your referral code (from the app’s settings).
2. Disable Comments
Comments in the game are distracting. And talking crap in comments might get you banned. It’s best to disable the comments so you can focus on the trivia game.
3. Play With Your Smarted Trivia Friends
If you already have a trivia group, play with them to increase your chances of winning. If 3-4 sharp trivia fans are helping you, there’s a much better chance of you ending up on the leaderboard. Once you win big, you can divvy up the winnings. You don’t have to do to this in person either. Just set up a video call.
4. Wait After You’ve Lost
Don’t rage quit the app after you’ve got something wrong. If you stick around, you might get a surprise in form of a prize box. You might even get an extra life. Plus, sticking around increases your practice time.
5. Enable Notifications and Play All Games
The app will notify you when a new game is about to start. So make sure the notifications are enabled. The best strategy for winning big is to make sure you never miss a game. If you’re in the US, you can make sure you have 10 minutes free around 3 PM and 9 PM. You can move around your lunch and dinner time if it helps.
