Apple has managed to strike gold with the Apple Watch. While the first iteration of the smartwatch was slow and plagued with issues, Apple has consistently upgraded the device every year with new features and powerful internals thereby solving most of the issues which plagued the wearable initially. Both Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 sold like hot cakes and set a new record for units sold in the respective quarter that they were unveiled.
While the Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 were all about internal improvements, Apple is going to take things up a notch with the Series 4. The new wearable is expected to be unveiled alongside Apple’s 2018 iPhone lineup at the company’s September 12 event.
Apple Watch Series 4 Features
If you were expecting Apple to unveil the Apple Watch Series 4 with a new design, prepare to be disappointed. However, the company is going to do the next best thing: increase the display size. Similar to the approach it took with the iPhone X in 2017, Apple is going to almost completely remove the bezels on the Apple Watch Series 4 and use an edge-to-edge display on the device. Rumors have claimed the display will be 15 percent bigger in size and while a leaked photo corroborates this design change, the exact dimension of the larger display is still unknown.
Other hardware improvements in the Apple Watch Series 4 are going to be about the switch to a faster and more power efficient processor and improved connectivity.
To go along with a bigger display, Apple will also unveil a bunch of new watch faces to take better advantage of the bigger display. A leaked Apple Watch photo has already given us a look at one of the new watch faces which will come with 8 complications. There are likely going to be other watch faces as well but we will know more about them when the company officially unveils the wearable on September 12.
watchOS 5
Alongside Apple Watch Series 4, Apple will also announce the release date of watchOS 5. The latest version of the company’s wearable OS comes with a number of new features including automatic workout detection, Walkie Talkie, support for new workouts, new Siri watch face, Raise to Siri, Grouped notifications, and more.

Apple Watch 4 Price
The new Apple Watch Series 4 should go up for pre-order alongside the 2018 iPhones on September 14. It should then hit the stores a week later on September 21. Going by how Apple has priced previous Apple Watch series, the new version should also start at the same $329 price point, with the LTE variant starting at $399. The launch of the Apple Watch Series 4 should lead Apple to drop the price of the Series 3 to $249 and discontinue Series 1 completely.
