Unc0ver iOS 13 - iOS 13.3 Jailbreak

A new update is out for the Unc0ver jailbreak tool which adds support for jailbreaking A9-A11 devices running iOS 13 – iOS 13.3. The update also fixes issues with the system services like not getting iMessage notification which popped up in the last release.

Unc0ver is not the first jailbreak tool for A8-A11 devices like the iPhone 7, iPhone 8, and iPhone X. There’s already Checkra1n which can jailbreak iPhone X and older devices running iOS 13 – iOS 13.3.1. However, while Checkra1n requires one to have access to a PC, one can sideload Unc0ver on their iPhone from any signing service and jailbreak their device. The only advantage of Unc0ver over checkra1n is that it does not require you to have access to a PC every time you need to re-jailbreak your device. Otherwise, if your iPhone is already jailbroken using checkra1n, you should just stick to it.

Below is the change-log of Unc0ver 4.2:

  • Fix issues with system services on A12-A13 (i.e. iMessage notifications)
  • Add iOS 13.0-13.3 support for A8-A11 devices
  • Fix temporary freeze after the jailbreak completed alert

Unc0ver is also compatible with Checkra1n jailbreak. This means if you switch from checkra1n to Unc0ver jailbreak on your iPhone, all your jailbreak apps and tweaks will be preserved. You can also switch from Unc0ver jailbreak to checkra1n and while your tweaks and apps will be preserved, you will have to manually install Cydia Substrate from Cydia after the switch.

Do note that if you use an Apple Watch, it might re-sync after a jailbreak. This process can take around a minute or two so don’t panic.
