iPhone 6 Plus vs iPhone6 vs iPhone5c

Apple unveiled the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus at its special event at the Flint Center in Cupertino, California.

Along with the launch of the new iPhones, Apple also dropped prices of the last year’s iPhone models, iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.

The colorful iPhone 5c is now the new entry level iPhone model, which is available for free with a two-year carrier contract.

In this post, we compare the tech specs of iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus with iPhone 5c. If you’re thinking of upgrading from the iPhone 5c, both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus would be significant upgrade. They’re not only come with bigger and better Retina HD displays, but they are also powered by faster and more power efficient A8 chip, significantly better front and rear facing cameras offering features such as True Tone flash, slo-mo video and burst mode. The new iPhones also offer better cellular and wireless capabilities, and improvements to battery life.

Apple’s NFC-based payment solution, Apple Pay, will only work with the iPhone 5c, if you buy the Apple Watch when it comes out next year, whereas it works out of the box on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, as they come with NFC technology. Another factor to consider is that if you end up taking a lot of photos or installing a lot of heavy games on your iPhone, you’ll find the new iPhone 6 128GB configuration very useful.

Please note that there are still some unknowns about the iPhone 6 like the clock speed, RAM and the number of cores in the A8 chip. We’ll likely know these once the devices undergo a teardown or are benchmarked. A Geekbench benchmark of an alleged iPhone 6 suggests that the new iPhones will be powered by a 1.38GHz dual-core A8 chip with only 1GB RAM.
