iPhone’s lock screen seem to be all the rage as of late in the jailbreaking world. Whether it be a lock screen theme like Peekly, or a lock screen tweak like Atom, jailbreak developers seem to be coming up with unique ways to redesign it.
So we thought it may be a good time to introduce you to LS Climacons, a lock screen theme that has been around for quite sometime. As you can see, LS Climacons developed by Finn Kraft is a minimal yet beautiful theme that features the weather, time of day and date. The theme comes in two versions: dark and light, and also includes a few spectacular backgrounds to choose from.
Unfortunately, since this WinterBoard theme is not available on Cydia, you need to do quite a bit of work to get it up and running. So let me explain how to install and configure the theme on your iPhone.
Before we begin, please install the following tweaks: WinterBoard, iFile, Lockscreen Clock Hide and 20 Second Lock Screen.
Installing Theme
- Visit this page on your iPhone. For the LS Climacons Light theme tap on this link, scroll down and tap on Switch to Desktop, then tap on the Download File link in the side bar. Similarly, for the LS Climacons Dark theme, tap on this link and tap on the Download File in the side bar.
- Tap on the Open in iFile button at the top right corner.
- Then tap on the Unarchiver button to unzip the package. After it has finished unzipping, tap on the Done button.
- Tap on the edit button, select LS Climacons theme from the list, followed by the copy/paste button at the bottom right corner and tap on the Copy/Link button, then tap on the Done button.
- Then navigate to the /var/stash/Themes.XXXXX/ folder (where XXXXX is some random alphanumeric), tap on the Edit button again and tap on the Paste button to copy the “LS Climacons” theme files.
- Launch Winterboard and navigate to Select themes.
- Here select LS Climacons for the light theme or LSC Dark for the dark one.
- Tap on the Home button.
This will force Winterboard to respring, and voila, your lock screen will be completely transformed with the LS Climacons theme.

You also need to manually change some of the settings such location etc. Let me show you how it’s done.
How to change the location?
- If you’re in the U.S., go to weather.com, enter your city or ZIP-code in the search bar and copy the alphanumeric weather code for your city. International users can get the weather location codes from this website.
- Launch iFile and navigate to /var/stash/Themes.XXXXX/LS Climacons/
- Open the LockBackground.html use the Text viewer, then tap on the edit button.
- Scroll down to “var locale” and replace GMXX3324 with the alphanumeric weather code for your city, which you had found out earlier.
- Respring and you should be done!
How to change the weather-update frequency?
You can also change the frequency with which the weather should be updated on the lock screen by following these steps:
- Open LockBackground.html in iFile.
- Scroll down to var updateInterval and replace 60 (which is minutes) with whatever update frequency you want to set. Please note that reducing the value could have impact on your iPhone’s battery life.
- Respring your device.
How to change to 12-hour time?
- Open LockBackground.html in iFile.
- Search for the following text – currentHours = ( currentHours > 12 ) ? currentHours – 0 : currentHours;
- In this string, replace 0 with 12
- Respring your device.
How to change the Wallpaper?
- Launch iFile and navigate to /var/stash/Themes.XXXXX/LS Climacons/
- Here you should see two .png files. To change the wallpaper, rename LockBackground.png to LockBackground 1.png and rename LockBackground 2.png to LockBackground.png.
- Respring your device.
