I rarely use the Return key to insert a line break when sending text messages via the Messages app. If you’re on the same page as me, you’ll be interested in a beta tweak known as ReturnToSender that replaces the Return key with something more useful.
As the name implies, the tweak replaces the Return key in the Messages app with a new Send button such that you can press it to deliver the text message right away instead of reaching out to the send button next to the text field. Not only this but it also works when you want to send a message via Quick Reply which is the place where the tweak will mostly come in handy as you no longer have to reach out to the Quick Reply interface to press the Send button.
After installing ReturnToSender, venture to its preferences pane in the Settings app to configure it. You can enable the ‘Only in Quick Reply’ toggle so that the tweak works in Quick Reply only and you’ll find two switches that allow you to keep the original Return button text and style. The pane also features a kill switch toggle to enable or disable the tweak on demand.
ReturnToSender is currently available as a beta package but it works perfectly without any issues. It will not be found in the default Cydia repos so you’ll need to add the following new repo first: http://skyfrost.github.io/repo/ . Once done, you should be able to find the tweak by searching its name in Cydia.
What do you think about ReturnToSender? Is it something that you’ve been waiting for? Sound off in the comments section below.
