Let’s be honest: the red iPhone 7 looks rad but it would have looked even better with a black front. While Apple is not going to re-release a red iPhone 7 with a black front, you can still give your new (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 a black front.

The process requires transplanting the internals of any other iPhone 7 that comes with a black front with that of the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7. The process requires that you know your way through opening an iPhone and swapping its internals. You cannot just swap the display of a black iPhone to the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 since the Touch ID sensor will stop working due to the security measures employed by Apple.

Plenty of YouTubers have already managed to achieve this feat so you can follow their videos to know the steps and have a look at the end result.

Alternatively, you can convert your existing iPhone 7 with a black front into a (PRODUCT)RED iPhone by slapping a skin at its rear. While the final results will not look as good as the red iPhone 7, they will still be pretty damn good especially since the whole process will only cost you around $10.

In addition, the red iPhone 7 has also gone through a scratch test to test the durability of the rear paint job. The video shows that the red iPhone 7 is more scratch resistant than the Jet Black iPhone 7, which is known to scratch very easily. However, the red color of the phone does show scratches and marks more easily compared to the matte black iPhone 7.

Do you plan on buying a red iPhone 7 and replacing the front with a black display? Or will you simply slap a red skin on your existing iPhone?
