Jeep, along with companies Dodge, Chrysler, and Fiat, have been named partners for Apple’s CarPlay technology since 2017, but Jeep has not been quick to adopt the in-car system.

That will change in the beginning of 2017, however. The 2017 Jeep Compass was officially revealed earlier this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and at the same time Jeep confirmed that the upcoming “AUV” will boast Apple CarPlay support right out of the gate. Jeep says the Compass will launch in the early part of 2017.

CarPlay support is offered through the Uconnect 4.0 infotainment system, which can be accessed from either a 5-, 7-, or 8.4-inch touchscreen. With the 2017 Jeep Compass being the first Jeep to boast support for CarPlay, it’s reasonable to assume that other Jeep models, which can support the Uconnect 4.0 infotainment system, will get CarPlay support in the future as well.
