How To Secure an iPhone X Pre-order on October 27

The much hyped and anticipated iPhone X goes up for pre-order at the end of this week. While Apple launched the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus soon after their official unveiling in September, supply issues forced the company to launch the iPhone X later than usual. This has also adversely affected sales of the iPhone 8 as many customers are potentially waiting for the iPhone X to launch.

If you have been patiently waiting to buy the iPhone X since Apple first introduced it and are ready to throw your money on the screen, well there’s more that you need to do. Due to high demand, getting your iPhone X pre-order in with reasonable shipping time is going to be extremely tough. So, to help make this daunting task easier, we have a few tips that should help you. Just have a look at the tips mentioned below.

  • First, decide how you want to pre-order the iPhone Your best bet is going to be the Apple Store app instead of the website. Make sure you also have access to a high-speed internet connection. If the app fails to load properly for you the first time, force quit it and then reload it again. You can use multiple iOS devices and use the Apple Store app to place your pre-order. You can keep them connected to different internet connections to increase your chances of successfully placing a pre-order.
  • If this will be your first time ordering something from the Apple Store app or the Apple Store in itself, make sure to browse the app/store to get an idea of how it works.
  • Make sure to fill your credit card details, address, and other details in the app before the pre-order day for a faster checkout experience. You should try using Apple Pay/Wallet to pay for your purchase since that offers the fastest checkout experience.
  • Decide on the color and capacity of the iPhone X you want to buy before the pre-order day. Any last minute change can lead to your iPhone X shipping after a couple of months.
  • The iPhone X listing is already live on the Apple Store. Make sure to favorite it right now so that you can quickly access it from the My Account section on the pre-order day.
  • This goes without saying but on October 27 be ready by 3:00 am EDT/12:00 PDT. The iPhone X goes up for pre-order within a minute from then. If you are late, then it is unlikely that you are going to receive your iPhone X pre-order before the end of December or early next year.
  • If you have the money to blow, place a pre-order for the 256GB iPhone X. Due to its high price, demand for the handset is going to be slightly lower than the 64GB variant.

If you are unable to get your pre-order in time for the iPhone X, you can try queuing up outside an Apple Store before the handset’s retail launch on November 3rd. While cumbersome and tiring, if you queue up early, you should be easily able to get your hands on the iPhone X on launch day. You can also try placing your pre-order through Verizon or AT&T to maximise your chances of getting your hands on the iPhone X as early as possible.

The above tips should help you in getting your hands on the iPhone X as early as possible. If your shipping estimate still ends up slipping to 8-10 weeks, there really is not much you can do apart from waiting for the device, buying it from the grey market at a higher price, or simply buying another phone altogether. Remember that due to yield issues with various iPhone X components, the handset is going to be in extremely short supply so make up your mind about buying the device before its pre-orders begin.
