Apple recently launched the updated MacBook Air and the iPad Pro with massive upgrades, but the company isn’t done yet. While we know that new iPhones are coming later this year, a new report states that the Cupertino-based firm will launch more updated products, including the new Apple TV and refreshed iMacs before the end of this year.
According to a new report from Bloomberg, which has a solid track record in predicting Apple’s upcoming products and their features, the iPhone maker will announce several new products in 2020. The report states that Apple will launch newer models of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, Apple TV, Apple Watch, HomePod, iMac, Mac Mini, and the iPhone before the end of this year.
The company will also unveil iOS 14, iPadOS 14, macOS 10.15.5, tvOS 14, and watchOS 7 during WWDC 2020, which is going to be an online-only event for the first time due to COVID-19 precautions. Several iOS 14, iPadOS 14, and watchOS 7 features have been leaked over the past couple of weeks.
While the development of upcoming Apple products is progressing and employees are working from home, but there have been minor hardware development setbacks. This is due to Apple’s usually extremely secretive culture when it comes to the development process, and engineers are reportedly having a tough time working from home.
Employees who need to have hands-on development are being allowed in the company’s Silicon Valley offices in the US. However, that’s not possible in countries like China, Germany, Italy, and other parts of Europe and Asia due to the COVID-19 lockdown procedures in those countries.
Apple has reportedly put a heavy emphasis on confidentiality and has asked its employees to know that it is “critical to keep confidential work confidential.” We don’t expect anything less from the Cupertino-based firm. The company is allowing to take home early versions of under-development products, including iOS 14, but there is a heavy guard on who is allowed to take products home.
