BlackBerry finally released its BlackBerry Messenger app for iPhone.
Unfortunately, to be able to handle the surge in traffic, BlackBerry has created a wait list for users who want to use the popular BBM service.
CNET reports that there is a nifty little trick to bypass the BBM wait list. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
- Download the BBM app from the App Store using this direct iTunes link.
- Open the app, enter your e-mail address, click Next, and then force-close it.
- To force close the app, double tap on the Home button, and swipe up on the BBM app to close it. Check this post if you need more help.
- After relaunching the app, create an account. Once done, you’ll receive a unique BBM PIN that you can use to start using BBM.
This workaround hasn’t worked for us, but we’re hearing that it is still working. It is quite possible that BlackBerry has closed the loophole. Update: Reader Buddy Partidge tells us in the comments that he got it working. We’ve got it working as well.
So give it a shot and let us know how it goes in the comments.
