Would you prefer to send incoming calls directly to your iPhone’s speaker or the headset while you’re driving?

In case you’re not aware there is a accessibility setting hidden deep inside the Settings app that lets you do exactly that.

Here’s how to enable it:

  • Launch the Settings app from your iPhone’s Home screen.
  • Navigate to General > Accessibility. Scroll down, and tap on Incoming calls.
  • You can select to send the incoming calls direct to your iPhone’s speaker or your headset by tapping on the appropriate option.

Incoming Calls to Speaker or Headset

That’s it. Now when you take a call, you will hear the caller on your iPhone’s speaker or your headset. You have to go through the same process to disable it, which is the downside of enabling this option. It would have been nice to have a quick settings toggle in Control Center to enable or disable it.

Here’s where a new jailbreak tweak called Hold2Speak can come in very handy. It allows you to send the incoming call to the speaker by tapping and holding on the Answer button. Hold2Speak also lets you initiate a call with the speaker enabled. All you need to do is tap and hold on the contact to initiate the call with the speaker enabled.
