Blind Camera Comparison

When Apple launched the iPhone XS and iPhone XR this year, it made quite a big deal about its Smart HDR algorithm which is aimed at improving the overall dynamic range, contrast, and details in photos. However, as we saw in a blind camera comparison by YouTuber MKBHD, when photos are posted on social media websites, most people tend to prefer the brighter looking photo.

It can be argued that the comparison was unfair since it only consisted of one photo each. Well, we have decided to pit the Google Pixel 3, iPhone XR, Pocophone a.k.a Poco F1, and the OnePlus 6T against each other in a blind camera comparison.

The iPhone XR has the same primary camera as the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max so its performance in our camera comparison will mirror that of the other two phones. The Google Pixel 3 XL is regarded as having the best camera in a smartphone right now thanks to Google’s HDR+ algorithm. As for the Pocophone and OnePlus 6T, both these phones are significantly cheaper than even the ‘budget’ $749 iPhone XR and their camera performance gives Apple’s 2018 iPhone lineup a serious run for their money.

Now, check out the comparison shots below from all the above and take part in our poll to let us know which phone photos you like the most — A, B, C or D. I will reveal the name of the phones after 48 hours.
