After months of waiting, Super Mario Run was officially released on Thursday in the iOS App Store, but jailbreak users will be surprised to find out that Nintendo has actually built jailbreak detection into the game.
Users who own a jailbroken device will be unable to play Super Mario Run as it will crash immediately after launching. This is caused by a piece of jailbreak detection code placed into the game to prevent jailbroken devices from running the game. Fortunately, there is a way to bypass jailbreak detection in Super Mario Run and we will show you how.
How to Play Super Mario Run on a Jailbroken iPhone
Step 1: Launch Cydia.
Step 2: Go to the Search tab and look for tsProtector.
Step 3: Open tsProtector 8+ (iOS 9 & 8).
Step 4: Purchase the package and then tap on the Install button to install the tweak onto your device.
How to Bypass Jailbreak Detection in Super Mario Run
Step 1: After the tweak is installed, go to the Settings app and open tsProtector’s preferences pane.
Step 2: Go to Black List Apps.
Step 3: Find ‘Mario Run’ in the list and turn on its toggle.
After you do this, the tweak will disable jailbreak detection in Super Mario Run and allow you to launch and play the game without any crash issues.
The reason Nintendo has built jailbreak detection into this game is pretty straightforward. They don’t want users to cheat in the game by installing tweaks from Cydia that can change the way the game works.
