Procreate Pocket, the powerful image editing app for iPhone, is now available for free for a limited time through the Apple Store app. The app includes all the tools you need to create stunning images on the go, and it’s usually priced at $2.99.
Procreate is widely regarded as one of the finest image creation studios for iOS. It was the App Store Editors Choice and selected in the App Store Best of 2015 in eight countries, and it has received heaps of glowing reviews from users since making its debut.
Procreate Pocket uses the same 64-bit Silica engine as the iPad version to take full advantage of your iPhone’s hardware. It also supports 3D Touch on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to allow you to paint with pressure sensitivity using your finger or stylus.
The app boasts a wide catalog of drawing tools, including 12 specially made brushes, and a full layering system for complex drawings. You can also download and import thousands of custom brushes made by other users.
There are also tools for things like distort and shear, non-uniform and uniform transformation, freehand selection, and duplicate selection. What’s more, Procreate Pocket records every step of your drawing and lets you play it back in 1080p.
As far as drawing apps go, then, Procreate is one of the best — and right now you can get the iPhone version for free. Here’s how:
- Open up the Apple Store app on your iPhone
- Tap the “Stores” tab
- Scroll down until you see the Apple Watch banner, then swipe left
- Tap the Procreate Pocket icon
- Tap “Download now for free”
- Proceed to the App Store and enter your iTunes password when prompted
- Tap “Redeem” and Procreate Pocket will begin to download
Sadly, the iPad version of Procreate isn’t included in this promotion. You can download Procreate Pocket on iPad, but you will still receive the iPhone version.
