The latest number from Sensor Tower points to Epic Games’ Fortnite generating over $500 million in revenue in less than a year of its launch. The game officially launched in March 2018 and crossed the $500 billion revenue mark at the beginning of this year.

More precisely, Fortnite took just 326 days to generate $500 million in revenues on iOS. In comparison, Supercell’s Clash Royale and Tencent’s Honor of Kings took 389 and 405 days, respectively. On average, Fortnite for iOS generated $1.53 million in revenue every single day, with almost 64 percent ($320 million approx) of the total revenue being generated from players in the United States.

Across all the platforms that Fortnite is available on, it is estimated to have generated over $2.4 billion in revenue in 2018.

Since Apple takes a 30 percent cut in in-app transactions from the iOS App Store, it has taken $150 million of the total $500 million in revenue generated by Fortnite so far. Over in the Android world, Fortnite is estimated to have generated over $100 million in revenue with the entirety of the money going to Epic Games alone since it is not distributing the game through Google Play.

Epic Games has been constantly updating Fortnite with new features, optimizations and releasing new seasons with new items to keep the interest alive in the game. This is another reason for the game continuing to rake in an impressive amount of money almost 10-11 months after its initial release. It crossed the $100 million revenue mark in just 90 days and made over $1.5 million via IAPs in the first four days of its limited invite-only launch.
