No one really knows exactly when Apple will host a press conference to announce the next iPhone, but we all assume it’ll be at some point either in late September or early October. That means it’s now is the time to hire people to build those delightful little bundles of glass, metal, and silicon.

According to Focus Taiwan, Foxconn, better known to some as Hon Hai, is on the hunt for 90,000 employees in the city of Shenzhen, China. Who is Foxconn? They’re the company that puts together iPhones, iPads, and a bunch of other products for other companies. The Asian assembler is known to have about a million employees, so for them to increase their headcount by an incredibly 9% tells you that an Apple event is a comin’.

What do we know about the next iPhone?

All we can safely assume is that it’s going to look exactly like the iPhone 5 that’s currently on store shelves. Different sites are publishing different spec sheets, so it’s hard to make a judgment call as to what sort of improvements it’ll have under the hood.
