The non-availability of the MMS feature for 1st generation iPhone (iPhone 2G) was probably one of the most disappointing news for iPhone 2G users that was announced at the WWDC 2009 Keynote address.
In fact, the MMS feature is not available currently to even iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS in the US. Some folks had figured out a way to enable MMS on iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS.
Fortunately, it turns out that there is a way to also enable MMS on a jailbroken iPhone 2G.
Some important points before you attempt to enable MMS on your iPhone 2G:

- You need a iPhone 2G with iPhone OS 3.0 running on it.

Since this is a hack, please proceed with caution and at your own risk.
Here is the step-by-step guide for enabling the MMS service on your jailbroken iPhone 2G:

Step 3: Now type in ActiveMMS2G in the Search box in order to find this application
Step 4: Once you find the application, click on the Install button and then Confirm button at the top right corner
Step 5: This will install the application on your iPhone 2G. Once the installation is complete, press the Reboot Device button in order to restart your iPhone.
