Now, simply swipe up on the card of any app to close the app.
How to Force Close Multiple apps at Once on iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max
If you’re looking to close multiple apps at once to remove all the apps running in the background, then you can close up to 3 iPhone apps at once using the same method.
Step 1: Swipe Up and Hold
Bring up the App Switcher by swiping up on the Home bar (from the bottom of the screen), holding your finger on the display for a split second and then removing it. You swipe up at a 45-degree angle to access the app switcher faster and get it right every single time.
Step 2: Swipe Up With Multiple Fingers
Initially, you will only see cards for two iPhone apps. You can place your two fingers on the two app cards, and swipe up to close the apps.
Alternatively, you can move the primary app to the right, which will also display the third app card. Now place your three fingers on the app cards, to close three apps at once.
Should You Force Close Apps on iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max?
This is a debate has been going on for years, and likely to continue. According to a former Apple Genius, you should not force close apps on your iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max since they will end up taking more resources when you launch them again. However, we believe that it is useful at times when the app freezes or is using a lot of battery life in the background.
