Pre-orders for the much anticipated iPhone X will go live later this week on October 27 across 55 countries. Despite supply issues, this is one of the widest iPhone launches ever from Apple. Following pre-orders, Apple will start selling the iPhone X through its retail stores from November 3.
There are quite a few ways you can pre-order the iPhone X. Looking at the sheer demand for the device and supply issues that Apple is facing, your best bet would be to pre-order the device if you want to get your hands on it as soon as possible.
Apple’s Online Store & Apple Store App
You can pre-order the iPhone X through Apple’s online store. If you are looking to buy an unlocked iPhone X, your only option is Apple’s online store. If you are planning to upgrade to the iPhone X using Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program, then your only option is the company’s own online store.
If you are going to order the iPhone X through Apple’s online store, make sure to use the Apple Store iOS app. That way, you will be able to finish the checkout process in just a few taps which will be a key deciding factor in when your iPhone X ships. Make sure to follow the tips we have mentioned in this article to ensure you are able to complete your iPhone X checkout as soon as possible. Pre-orders for the iPhone X will go live after 12:00 midnight/3:00 am EDT so make sure you are ready before that.
In India, where Apple does not have its own online store, the company is accepting pre-orders for the handset through two of the major e-commerce players: Amazon and Flipkart. Amazon India will start accepting pre-orders for the iPhone X from October 27 midnight, while Flipkart will start accepting pre-orders from 12:31PM on October 27.
If you live in any other part of the world where Apple’s online store is not available, make sure to check out your local retailers and online e-commerce websites.
Carriers
If you are currently in a contract with your carrier and due for an upgrade, then you will have to upgrade to the iPhone X through your carrier itself. All major U.S. carriers will also start accepting pre-orders for the iPhone X from October 27 midnight. Even better, they are offering some sweet trade-in deals on older iPhones and Android devices to make the experience of upgrading to an iPhone X hassle-free for you.
If you are on Verizon’s network and own an iPhone 7/Plus or iPhone 6s/Plus, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S7, LG G6, or Google Pixel XL, you can get up to $300 in trade-in credit when you buy the iPhone X. The trade-in value will be credited to your billing account in monthly instalments. Older devices like the Galaxy Note 5, iPhone 6, and others will fetch you anywhere between $100 to $200.
On T-Mobile, you can get the 64GB iPhone X by paying a down payment of $280 and then paying monthly instalments of $30. The 256GB iPhone X will set you back by $430 in down payment, though the monthly instalment remains the same. T-Mobile will also provide you with up to $300 in 24 monthly bill credits if you trade-in your existing device for an iPhone X.
Sprint’s trade-in program for the iPhone X is best as it is offering up to $400 for trading in your old iPhone or flagship Android device.
Apple Store/Other Retailers
In case you end up being late in placing your iPhone X pre-order, you have the option of walk-in to your nearest Apple Store on launch day (November 3) and buying the handset. However, as Apple recommends, due to heavy demand, you should walk-in early to the store. How early? Well, Apple Stores will open early at 8:00 am on iPhone X launch day. Looking at the demand and supply issues, you should ideally start camping outside your nearest Apple Store at least a couple of days ago. Don’t think that you will get your hands on the iPhone X on launch day if you simply walk-in to an Apple Store on November 3 — that’s simply not going to happen. If you don’t want to go through the hassle of camping outside an Apple Store to get the iPhone X, make sure to get your pre-order in early.
If Apple does not have a retail presence in your country, make sure to visit your nearest mobile store. Most major retailers are already accepting pre-orders for the iPhone X and will reserve units for their major customers. So, the earlier you pre-book your iPhone X from your nearest retailer, the better.
The iPhone X is going to be in extremely short supply at launch. While this is the same trend with a new iPhone launch every year, things are even worse this year. So, if you don’t get your iPhone X pre-order in early, you will likely end up waiting for at least a month or two before your device ships.
