While the iPhone is not a customizable as an Android Phone, it does make sure to include many features that will make it easier to use for folks with disabilities. Accessibility can be found in Settings -> General. While many of features were made with a specific customer in mind, anyone can use the features to improve their iPhone experience. Once such feature is the LED notification option.
How to enable LED notifications on your iPhone
Go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility and find LED Flash for Alerts.
Once you enable this feature your iPhone will now flash anytime you receive an alert.
It uses the iPhone’s LED light (used for flash and flashlight) to notify a user whenever a new alert has been received. This was created with the hearing impaired in mind, but it is helpful for anyone that wants a more noticeable alert than simple vibrations or tones.
Of course if you place your phone on its back, the flash will be pretty impossible to see. It has also been noted that Apple Watch users and perhaps owners of other Bluetooth devices, may not receive an LED alert since all alerts are pushed to the Apple Watch first.
LED Flash for Alerts is a nice example of ways to customize your iPhone to your liking. Let us know what you think about the LED alerts in the comment section.
