Couple of weeks back, Yahoo released a gorgeous standalone weather app for the iPhone.

When I first heard rumors about the possibility of Yahoo launching a weather app, I wondered if the company was little too late as there were so many awesome weather apps already available in the App Store.

I was wrong, it has quickly become my go-to weather app. So it was great to see a new jailbreak tweak aptly called Yahoo! Weather is Better, that allows you to make it your default weather app.

After installing the jailbreak tweak, tapping on the iOS Weather icon or the Weather widget in the Notification Center will launch Yahoo Weather instead of the stock iOS Weather app.

If you want to disable rerouting to Yahoo’s weather app,  you can turn off Reroute Stock Bulletin or the Reroute Stock Icon toggles via the Settings app.

You’ll still have to live with weather information from the stock weather app when you use Siri as it doesn’t reroute that data.

Yahoo! Weather is Better jailbreak tweak is available on Cydia for free. You can tap on the download link below to install it from Cydia.

In case you haven’t noticed, the irony is that Apple uses data from Yahoo for the the stock Weather app, whereas Yahoo uses data from Weather Underground for its Weather app.
