If you are an avid user of the Netflix app on iOS, then today’s update for the app may be a welcomed one.

The update for Netflix is available now, and it’s meant to make the playback for media a bit easier. Now, on the left and right sides of the screen, you can double-tap to either rewind or fast forward by ten seconds, respectively. The play/pause button in the middle of the screen is a bit bigger thanks to the update as well.

Meanwhile, at the bottom of the screen, Netflix has added new buttons, including a “Next Episode” option which will quickly skip to the next episode in whatever series of TV you are watching. There are also easily accessible options for changing audio and subtitle settings. Finally, an individual button that will bring up the list of episodes that are available in the series.

Here’s Netflx’s changelog:

Get ready to change how you watch things with our new video player.

  • New forward and back 10-second buttons make it easy to jump to the exact point you want to. Pro-tip: double-tap on the left or right side of the screen while watching to instantly go forward or back.
  • Enjoy bigger controls like play/pause, with labels to quickly select Episodes or turn on Audio & Subtitles.
  • Tap the new “Next Episode” button to get to the next one even faster.

The new software is available now. It’s a free download. A link to the iOS Netflix app is available below.

In related news, we recently reported that Netflix is investigating cheaper mobile-only tiers for its plans in international markets. Considering a hefty chunk of Netflix’s user base is based on mobile usage, these changes, and the mobile-only options, are a nice change.
