Nintendo has just released yet another Pokémon based game to fuel your appetite for the classic Nintendo game. Known as Pokémon Duel, this game takes a slightly different route compared to Pokémon Go.

Instead of finding and collecting Pokémon in the real world, this game offers a range of characters to choose from and battle against players from around the world. So there isn’t a lot of physical activity involved here. The concept is pretty simple, and understandably, it’s more intense compared to Pokémon Go.

The app’s description on the iTunes App Store reads “Pokémon Duel is a strategy board game that uses Pokémon figures. Build a deck with your favorite figures and then leap into a League Match! Compete with players from around the world for a chance to enter the top League rankings in League Matches. You’ll fight your rivals in real time! Win duels, get all kinds of cool figures and items, and make your deck stronger!”

It’s a free download on the iTunes App Store as well as the Google Play Store, although it comes with a bunch of in-app purchases which might be necessary for continuity and in-game growth. Even though the game might not be as popular as the previous title, it’s going to serve as an alternative to fans of Pokémon Go.

The game comes hot on the heels of Pokémon Go, which was an international sensation last year. It has been downloaded over 500 million times on app hubs and has generated revenes upwards of $900 million in 2016 alone. The app even made its way to the Apple Watch a few weeks ago. Since the game’s popularity has dipped now, this could be the perfect time for Nintendo to spice things up with a new Pokémon game.
