Concept Video Envisions a (PRODUCT)RED iPhone X

Word on the street is that Apple is aiming to launch the iPhone X in a new color at some point this year.

The majority of that talk is centered on the inclusion of a “Blush Gold” variant in the lineup, but there are other possibilities. While a gold option might be one of the more oft-requested ideas, especially considering gold hues are not a stranger to the iPhone lineup, there is another option that Apple launched early in 2017 that saw plenty of attention, too: (PRODUCT)RED.

The brilliant red color for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus launched well after the two smartphones were initially made available in late 2016, and the idea for Apple was to not only offer a new color, but also spur up sales as 2017 was getting underway. That may be what Apple is planning this year with the iPhone X, but we will have to wait and see which color, if any, the company is planning on adding to the mix.

Now, designer Martin Hajek has put together a pretty quick and straightforward concept video of the iPhone X, envisioning the handset with the (PRODUCT)RED color scheme. The red option is even brighter this time around thanks to the glass-back design of the smartphone. But, unlike the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, this model doesn’t have white bezels dominating the front.

Here’s the video:

What do you think of a (PRODUCT)RED iPhone X? Would you pick one up?

Our Take

This writer, like a lot of people out there, was a fan of the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 Plus when it launched last year. I picked one up, too, but I ultimately couldn’t keep it because I just prefer my devices to not have white bezels. That wouldn’t be a concern with the iPhone X, though, and seeing this concept video definitely makes me want to see a (PRODUCT)RED option in the real world.
