We have been critical about iPhone's 2 megapixel camera and its
basic camera app and have written about iPhone apps such as Cycorder which brought video recording, Snapture which brought professional features such as Digital zoom, delay timer etc and ClearCam which turns your iPhone's 2-megapixel camera into a 4-megapixel camera to add more zing (actually megapixels) to your iPhone's camera.
But I was pleasantly surprised to see the 100 amazing iPhone photos collated by Haje Jan Kamps of Photocritic.org. They are very good. Haje has also given a cool tip on how to take better photos with your iPhone's camera.
Haje Jan Kamps of Photocritic.org who has written a book about photography sums it up quite well about iPhone's camera:
slew of camera phones out there. I had a couple of Sony Ericsson phones
that had better battery life AND a far better camera (with – gasp –
autofocus!) than Apple’s raprod.
And yet… it’s the first camera phone I’ve used where I’m taking
photos all the damn time. It helps that the iPhone makes uploading
photos to Flickr / Facebook or e-mailing them to friends very easy, and
the fact that your photos are Geo-tagged for you is pretty nifty as
well.
So yes, the iPhone is a rather fantastic machine overall, with a
sub-par camera. That doesn’t stop people from making some damn fine
artwork with it though…"
He has a cool tip for users on how to take amazing photos using iPhone's camera (in case you didn't know already as its ):
taking a picture. Instead, try to press & hold the shutter button,
frame the photo and then release the button when you’re ready to shoot."
