We're sure you might have heard about the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull that has caused so much travel chaos in Europe since last week.
Thoughtful folks at Lonely Planet, one of the largest travel guide book and digital media publisher in the world is offering 13 of its city guides available on the App Store for free so that travelers who are stranded can make the most of their “unexpected” holiday.
The iPhone guides are free for the following cities: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Budapest, Copenhagen, Istanbul, London, Moscow, Munich, Paris, Rome, Stockholm, and Vienna.
Lonely Planet is aptly calling this "Volcano Relief Sale". Tom Hall, Lonely Planet Travel Editor in a press release said:
“Travelers stuck in unfamiliar places need access to practical information as well as suggestions on what to do while stranded,”
Lonely Planet iPhone apps are priced between $10 and $15, so getting them for free is an awesome deal. The iPhone guides are free for the next four days (until 11:59pm Thursday GMT).
So don’t waste any time and download the temporarily free iPhone apps from the App Store using these iTunes link: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Budapest, Copenhagen, Istanbul, London,Moscow, Munich, Paris, Rome, Stockholm, and Vienna.
And if you want to figure out how to pronounce Eyjafjallajökull correctly, there is a video for it as well.
