A live video feed of the ball drop is also being streamed through Livestream, which provides you with another viewing option. The New Year’s Eve event is also front and center in the app when you tap on the search button to find a live event to watch. To access the content in Livestream, you will have to login or sign up for an account if you don’t already have one. The quality of the stream in the Livestream app is top-notch, but it is sometimes laggy. Hopefully, it holds up at midnight when a large number of people try to watch last-minute countdown.
If you don’t have to time to download and setup an app, the official live stream of the ball drop can be found on the web at timessquareball.net. The site has a live video stream that can be watched through Mobile Safari on your iPhone or iPad. The quality is not HD when viewing on your iOS device, but you’ll be able to see the last-minute countdown and the ball drop just fine.
