Apple Maps users are reporting a partial service outage as they are unable to use the mapping service to request a route from one location to another.

The issue is widespread as users across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, and other parts of the world are reporting the same issue. In some scenarios, Apple Maps is failing to even display location information and traffic information for some users. Apple’s service status page currently shows an issue with Maps routing and search issue so it is likely that the issue will be resolved in a few hours from now.

If you are an Apple Maps user and are affected by the service outage, you can use Google Maps for navigation purposes. The latter is more feature rich and has better mapping data than Apple’s mapping solution so it is not like you are going to miss out on much here.
