Apple has started work on its first retail store for Singapore, as confirmed by these photos sent into us by a reader. Located in Knightsbridge, the previously empty building’s windows have all been covered in white as work takes place inside ahead of the store’s big opening later this year.
This particular building, on Orchard Road, has been vacant since last December, and sat empty until its windows were covered up this week. It was previously home to a Pure Fitness gym, which has now relocated, we’re told. Other stores on this street include Tommy Hilfiger and TANGS.
Apple has already confirmed that all of its operations in Singapore — including the new store — will be powered entirely by solar energy. The Cupertino company has also begun recruiting retail staff for this location, but we’re yet to get an official launch date.
Thanks, Stan!
