It is widely speculated that Apple will also unveil the next generation Apple TV – Apple TV 3 alongside iPad 3 at the media event on Wednesday.
According to rumors, the new Apple TV will be powered by the dual-core A5X chip and offer support for 1080p video to complement iPad 3’s high resolution Retina Display.
We now have some information on the pricing and the good news is that it will cost $99, the same price as Apple TV 2, according to a report on 9 to 5 Mac.
The Apple TV J33 model, MD199LL/A – J33 BEST -USA, which we’ve covered before will come in at the same $99 price point (and similar prices globally). We know from previous reports that it will have updated hardware internally including Bluetooth 4.0 Broadcom chip as well as a higher powered processor capable of 1080P video.
It will likely look the same with similar ports otherwise, though that hasn’t been confirmed.
9 to 5 Mac also reports that they’ve got pricing information for an unknown product with a codename “B82”:
the new mystery B82 accessory part just got a price as well: $39. We’re still not sure what exactly it is (Dock, A/V cable – currently $39, remote – currently $19, etc.). We’re not expecting anything too spectacular however under $40.
We’re assuming that this unknown product that 9 to 5 Mac is referring to, is the rumored redesigned Smart Cover for iPad 3 as the Polyeutharene Smart Cover for iPad 2 is currently available for $39. We expect Apple to also offer the redesigned Smart Cover in leather for $69.
