Apple is preparing to launch the Apple Watch Series 7 this year. This time around, Apple is planning to revamp the Apple Watch design instead of focusing on improving its health aspects.

Like previous years, Apple should launch the Apple Watch Series 7 alongside the iPhone 13 series in September. If you want to buy the Apple Watch Series 7, read below to know everything about the next Apple Watch.

Apple Watch Series 7 – Bigger Display, Flatter Design

One of the key changes on the Apple Watch Series 7 this year will be a slightly refreshed design language. The overall shape will remain the same, but leaked CAD renders point to a flatter iPad Pro/iPhone 12-like design. Additionally, Apple plans to use a larger display on the Apple Watch this year with smaller bezels surrounding it.

The change in display size won’t be massive, but the smaller bezels will help give the Apple Watch Series 7 a more modern look. So far, rumors and leaks have not made it clear if there will be any change in the overall thickness of the device. As a part of the redesign, Apple will also increase the casing size on the Apple Watch Series 7. Rumors suggest the Apple Watch Series 7 could come in 41mm and 45mm sizes, up by 1mm from the Apple Watch Series 6.

To take advantage of the bigger display, Apple will also include newer watch faces on the Apple Watch Series 7. A report has also detailed the new watch faces.

Apple Watch Series 7 – No New Health Sensors, Better Performance

Apple is not expected to debut any new health sensors on the Apple Watch Series 7 this year. If the company introduces any new health tracking feature, it would purely be software-based and take advantage of the existing sensors. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has said that there’s “no chance” of the Apple Watch Series 7 shipping with a blood oxygen sensor this year.

Most of the new health sensors and related features are expected to come in 2022 and later.

Apple is expected to debut a newer S-series chip on the Apple Watch Series 7 this year. Like previous years, the new S-series chip should offer better performance, faster app loading times, and longer battery life.

Apple Watch Series 7 Price and Availability

Apple is expected to announce the Apple Watch Series 7 alongside the iPhone 13 series in September this year. The wearable should go on sale towards the end of September in most markets, followed by early October in others.

As for pricing, it should be in line with last year’s Apple Watch Series 6. This means the base 41mm Apple Watch Series 7 should cost $399, while the 45mm variant will likely cost $459.

Apple has reportedly run into production issues with the Apple Watch Series 7, due to which it will be available in limited quantities at launch.

Apple Watch SE 2?

Last year, Apple unveiled the Apple Watch SE as a cheaper and less feature-packed alternative to the Apple Watch Series 6. This year though, the company is not expected to announce a refresh of the Apple Watch SE. Reports suggest that will happen next year, with the Apple Watch SE possibly getting a slight price cut this year to make it a more attractive offering to consumers.
