The 30-pin connector was such a mainstay for Apple for so long, that launching an adapter for the option only made sense as people made the transition to newer, Lightning-equipped devices.

Apparently it’s been long enough for the adapter, because Apple has decided to discontinue the accessory. At the time of publication the adapter has been removed from Apple’s online storefront. Up until recently, the Lightning to 30-pin adapter retailed for $29, after it debuted in 2012.

Lightning has been Apple’s go-to charging option since 2012, after the original iPad mini, the fourth-gen iPad, and the iPhone 5 welcomed the smaller charging port into each lineup. Considering how long ago Lightning replaced the 30-pin connector, it makes sense that Apple would decide to discontinue the accessory.

The Lightning to 30-pin adapter is no longer available to buy from Apple directly at the time of publication.
