Samsung recently pulled the wraps from Galaxy S20 Series. The new Galaxy S20 Ultra boasts of class-leading camera setup and is a natural rival for Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max. PhoneBuff, a YouTube channel has decided to find out which of the above phone is stronger and the results are surprising.

Before we begin, here are a few things to keep in mind. Apple touted that the iPhone 11 Pro Max features “the toughest glass in a smartphone.” We don’t know which glass Apple has used as it doesn’t reveal the same. However, Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with Corning Gorilla 6 at both front and back. As far as displays are concerned, the Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with a 6.9-inch screen while the iPhone 11 Pro Max comes with a 6.5-inch display.

In the first round of drops, the Galaxy S20 Ultra performed better than the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Within a couple of rounds, the back glass on iPhone 11 Pro Max cracked while the one on Ultra remained intact. Perhaps this is due to the protruding camera unit on the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Since both the devices survived drop tests they had to endure the bonus test.

The bonus test was carried over by dropping the phone 10 times. Despite sustaining heavy damage, the screen was still working on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. However, the rear camera unit stopped working due to the impact. Meanwhile, the S20 Ultra was not only shattered but it stopped working completely. Due to its resilience to damage in the initial rounds, PhoneBuff awarded 37/40 to the Galaxy S20 Ultra and 35/40 for the iPhone 11 Pro Max. As you can see both the devices seem to do pretty well and the results are sort of a mixed bag.

Do you think Galaxy S20 Ultra is stronger than iPhone 11 Pro?
