Earlier today, Twitter announced that it is raising its 140-character limit to 280 characters for a selected few users as an experiment. Well, if you are bummed that you did not get the expanded tweet limit, here’s a simple hack that will let you tweet up to 280 characters right away.

There are two different methods floating around the internet that will let you bypass the 140-character limit and impose a 280-character limit. The first method is more complex and time-consuming but works through Twitter’s official website.

As for the second method, it only requires one to bookmark a link but then all your 280-character tweets should be done through Tweetdeck on Chrome. Sounds simple? Then all you need to do is head over to this link and bookmark it. Then, open Tweetdeck, click on the link you just bookmarked and then proceed with your 280-character tweet.

For now, Twitter is still experimenting with the expanded restrictions on characters for tweets. Whether this 280-character limit is here to stay or not is something that only time will tell. For that, the company is closely monitoring how the expanded limit helps users in tweeting their thoughts and whether it helps in engaging more users or not.

If you are someone who thinks they can express themselves better on Twitter with 280-character tweets, well then what are you waiting for?

As for Twitter, how about that edit button for tweets that your long-time users have been requesting since aeons now?
