We’ve already seen a couple of cases where the Apple Watch’s heart rate feature has recognized irregular heart rate. This feature has saved lives. Now, Apple is teaming up with Stanford for an official Heart Rythm study using the Apple Watch. The data gathered during this study will be used to detect and track heart issues like atrial fibrillation.

You can be a part of the study. All you need is a compatible Apple Watch and the app.

You’ll need to own an Apple Watch Series 1 and above to enroll in this study. The original Apple Watch isn’t supported.
