p0sixpwn developer winocm will be joining Apple later this year, and doesn’t like jailbreaking, but he continues to hack iOS devices for fun and pleasure. In a new video, winocm shows an iPad 2 that can triple boot iOS 5.1, iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 7.0.6.

winocm had already managed to get iOS 5.1 and iOS 6.1.3 running on an iPad 2 a few days ago, and with the new video, he’s made progress to add iOS 7 too. He notes that he doesn’t have SHSH blogs saved for earlier versions of iOS.

The nearly 3 minute long video shows the iPad 2 tethered to a MacBook. The iPad is booted into all three versions of iOS via the terminal. In the video’s description, winocm says that he doesn’t use evasi0n 7 to achieve this:

(Since some people can’t tell the difference between say, iOS 5 and iOS 6 based on icons. Oh well. Hopefully the massively white iOS 7 UI will open your eyes. Oh yeah, no evasi0n7 either. :D)

@winocm

release in 7 years..?

It doesn’t look like winocm plans to release this tool publicly, but this could be particularly useful to app developers who have to test their apps on various iOS versions.

Just a few days ago, winocm had also demonstrated an untethered iOS 7.1 jailbreak for the iPhone 4.

What do you think about the triple boot iPad? Just a cool hack, or something that could be useful?
