The iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max have the same dimensions as the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. So does that mean the iPhone XS cases will fit the iPhone 11 Pro?
The iPhone X cases fit the iPhone XS, though some cases did have compatibility issues especially around the rear camera portion. That’s not going to be the case with the iPhone 11 Pro as iPhone XS cases are not going to fit the handset. The same stands true for the iPhone 11 Pro Max as well.
The massive squarish camera bump at the rear of the iPhone 11 Pro makes the rear design vastly different from that of the iPhone XS. Then there’s also the fact that the Apple logo on the iPhone 11 Pro has been repositioned. Due to such design changes, the iPhone XS cases are not compatible with the iPhone 11 Pro.
Apple generally tries to maintain compatibility with iPhone cases with every new iPhone but the rear design changes this time around made it impossible.
This means if you are looking to upgrade to the iPhone 11 Pro from the iPhone XS, you will have to buy a new set of cases with it as well. That should not be too difficult as most accessory makers have already started selling cases for the iPhone 11 Pro series. Plus, Apple is also selling its own leather and silicone cases for the iPhone 11 Pro series if you tend to prefer them.
