Back in June, we launched our Forum section and a new commenting system powered by Vanilla. One of the primary reasons to use Vanilla for both comments on the website and Forum section was to ensure that you have one identity, one reputation and one user experience on all sections of our website.
However, we also want to offer our readers the best commenting experience, so based on feedback from many readers over the last two months, we’ve decided to switch to Disqus, which is the most popular commenting system.
Disqus offers a clutter free interface with tons of features such as real-time discussions, allows you to vote insightful comments up and trolls down, allows you to easily share any comment or discussion thread to your favorite social network, replies to comments are nested to more easily follow conversations and the ability to follow fellow readers to see what they’re saying on other websites.
You will be able to login with your Facebook, Twitter, Google or your email address. You may already be logged in if you’ve commented on a Disqus-enabled site.
Please note that you won’t be able to use the Forum login to comment on the website, but you can login to the Forum section using your Disqus account.
We are also in the middle of migrating comments to Disqus, which should take 24 to 48 hours, so don’t panic if you don’t see your older comments.
We’re excited about switching to Disqus as we believe it offers the best commenting experience on the web. Give it a try and let us know what you think.
Update 1:
We seem to have hit an issue with the import so it is going to take more time to migrate the comments. We’ll keep you posted.
Update 2:
The comments have now been migrated to Disqus.
