Snapchat Gender Swap Filter: Everything You Need to Know
What is Snapchat Gender Swap Filter?
Here’s what Snapchat does. There are two new filters, one for male gender swap and one for female. The male gender swap filter adds a beard, a masculine jawline, and short hair. The female gender swap filter removes beard or facial hair, smooths out the skin, and adds long hair.
How Snapchat Gender Swap Filter is Being Used Online
There are a lot of creative ways to use this feature. You can of course just record a funny video with the gender swap filter and send it to your friends.
To kick thing up a notch, you can try using a gender swap filter on a photo. Just import the photo with the face from the library and let Snapchat do its thing. Try this for popular characters, celebrities or even past US presidents for a good hearty laugh. And you can post it on Twitter for some internet brownie points.

One of the most creative uses of the gender swap filter that we’ve seen yet has been by Photographer Scott Hubbard. He used it to create a hilarious lip-sync duet of the Evanescence’s ‘Bring Me to Life’ song where he seamlessly switches between the male parts and the female parts simply by moving his face. He starts off with the female face filter, with the female part of the song. And when the male part comes on, he swiftly moves his face away so we can see his side profile (and Snapchat removes the female face filter).

Now that Scott has started this trend, you can capitalize it by creating your own version of your favorite duet.
