Now that macOS Sierra 10.12.3 stable update is out in the wild, Apple is ready to push the 10.12.4 beta. And the first developer beta was released today. It includes the usual improvements, and a major iOS feature makes the jump to desktops.
Night Shift for macOS
Night Shift, the iOS feature that puts a warm yellow tint over the display, makes it to macOS with this beta release. Looking at bright blue light right before going to bed might have negative effects on your sleep. Night Shift gently keeps warming up the display, starting from sunset.
You’ll find the feature in Display in System Preferences. Just like iOS, you can put it on schedule and play around with the intensity.
You’ll find a toggle for Night Shift in the Notification Center and you can ask Siri to turn it on for you as well.
Siri Improvements
Siri has picked up some new tricks, ones that our Indian readers will appreciate. Siri can show score cards and updates for Cricket matches. And she’ll also tell you all about the Indian Premier League and Internation Cricket Council (world cups).
Dictation Support
The latest update adds dictation support for Shanghainese
PDF Kit Updates
PDFKit APIs have been updated for better displaying PDFs in apps that use the framework.
