Apple ships some great wallpapers with every OS X release, but what you might not know is that the company also hides a bunch of awesome wallpapers deep inside the OS, only to use them as screen savers.

Here’s how you can use these hidden images as your desktop wallpapers:

• Open Finder
• Press Command + Shift + G (or use the menu’s Go → Go to Folder option) and enter this path “/Library/Screen Savers/Default Collections/” (without quotes).

• Once you hit enter, you’ll see collections of wallpapers in the form of folders. Go inside each one of them to see individual images and copy them to an accessible folder, from where you can use them for your desktop wallpaper.

(Note: These hidden wallpapers were available in OS X Mountain Lion too, but the location of the files has changed between the two releases.)
