On June 27, Apple added places like Tokyo, Zion National Park and others to their 3D Flyover feature within the Maps app. That updated came after another in March of the same year that added several new places. And now, Apple’s added another batch of cities to the mix.
On Sunday, September 7, MacRumors reported that Apple had been busy adding a plethora of new locations to their 3D Flyover city tours feature, which is baked into the Maps app inside iOS 8 and the upcoming OS X Yosemite. With the Flyover feature, users get the option to check out notable landmarks within a particular city — or area. While the standard Flyover feature has been available for a bit, the automated 3D Flyover city tours feature is new, and upcoming to iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite.
Since its debut within the first beta of iOS 8, Apple has been busy adding cities and other important areas to the upcoming feature. There are over 90 locations listed within the standard Flyover feature, and of those 40 are now listed as being compatible with the 3D Flyover city automated tours.
