The Totallee Scarf case is a phenomenal ultra-thin case. It barely even looks like it’s on the phone, yet offers decent scratch protection and a pleasantly grippy feel. It’s also priced affordably and comes in five colors.

While other folks are complaining about the design of the iPhone 7 staying mostly similar to that of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s, we know better. The iPhone 7 is just a downright impressive piece of hardware. That’s especially true if you opted for the new black or jet black color options.

For as long as I’ve had an iPhone, which is eight years now, I’ve never liked the idea of putting on a really enormous, ugly case for the sake of protection. It has always been a gorgeous device and one that’s become increasingly more durable. I don’t see why those cases are necessary anymore.

What is much more practical is putting on a case that protects the iPhone from scratches and also complements its design. If minimal protection is what you seek in a case, look no further. Totallee’s Scarf case is arguably the best ultra-thin case available for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

The Scarf is Magnificently Designed

What I absolutely love about the Scarf is that someone who doesn’t know any better would have no idea a case is even on your phone. It wraps perfectly around my iPhone 7 Plus. The speaker holes are aligned beautifully as are the holes for all the buttons. Even the edge of the case wraps around to exactly where the front glass of the iPhone parts with the back aluminum. The black color couldn’t match my black iPhone any better too.

At just 0.02 inches thick, this is Totallee’s thinnest case and one of the thinnest cases you can find. I can’t stress enough how inconspicuous the Scarf looks on your iPhone. The thin design is quite incredible.

The case appropriately has cut-outs for the mute switch, volume control, bottom speaker holes, Lightning connector, camera, flash and microphone on the back. The cut-out for the Lightning connector is a bit small but it’s negligible. At just 0.2 inches thick, I don’t see this case interfering with any third-party accessories whatsoever.

Something else I thoroughly appreciate about the Scarf is the raised portion on the back to protect the camera. The camera on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus juts out of the device as you know — and especially so on the iPhone 7 Plus — so the case makes the accommodation by lifting to create a subtle border around it. As a result, when you rest your iPhone on a flat surface, the camera won’t come in contact with it.

The product page doesn’t list the material of the case anywhere, but I’m guessing it’s TPU. It’s flexible enough to let your phone in and out as needed, but tight and durable enough to stay in place.

The Scarf Sacrifices Itself for Your iPhone

While the material seems to do a decent job of protecting your iPhone against scratches, the Scarf doesn’t do well hiding scratches directly on the case. All I had to do was lightly scrape against the case a few times with my fingernail and it now has permanent scratch marks. Whether you consider this a pro or con depends on which camp you’re in. If you don’t mind your case getting banged up for the sake of the iPhone, the Scarf is just fine. If you want your case to generally look pretty good and in tact, Scarf might disappoint.

One other area I wish for improvement in is display protection. I always like whatever case I have on my iPhone to have a front lip around the display so it’s raised above surface level, even if only slightly. The Scarf lacks a lip entirely. If you place your phone face down on a table, it’s going to rub and get scratches. You might be fine with this since the iPhone 7 has proven quite scratch resistant, but I’d prefer the lip for added peace of mind.

I’m not going to even get into drop protection. If you’re looking for a case that provides drop protection, this is not it. I will say, though, that the case is nice and grippy. Hopefully this small perk prevents some drops from happening in the first place. Still, clumsy folks are better off looking elsewhere.

I really enjoy the Totallee Scarf overall. It perfectly pairs with my iPhone 7 Plus, offers extremely basic protection and looks flawless. It even comes in nice, simple packaging. Totallee offers the Scarf in five colors: white, gray, black, navy blue and burgundy red and sells it for a modest $19. If you don’t have an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus just yet, the Scarf is also available for iPhone 6, 6s, 5s, 5 and SE.
