Apple has been moving away from any kind of dependency on Google for quite some time now, and not just when it comes to the Maps app. Google, though, doesn’t mind having its own applications available for iOS. Gmail, one of the company’s most popular iOS apps, has now been updated to feature further integration into other Google products, as well as some other small additions to ice the cake.
Officially updated on July 24, the newest version of Gmail for iOS brings it up to 3.14, and adds plenty of small additions alongside one major upgrade. First and foremost, Gmail for iOS now includes improved integration with Google Drive, so that you can attach documents from your emails directly into Drive, which is meant to make saving bandwidth on your device possible, as well as make them accessible from anywhere you can reach your Google Drive.
You can also now insert documents and images right from Google Drive into the app.
There are new account management options now included in the app, making it possible to choose which accounts you want to make visible, all without having to remove any of them from your device. And now, you can even change your profile picture from within Gmail’s Settings.
